500 Degreez is the third album by the New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne released in 2002. The album gets its name because it was released after Juvenile, who had an album called 400 Degreez. The album would peak at #6 on the Billboard 100, #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and sell 536,000 copies in the U.S. and 900,000 copies worldwide. This is Wayne's lowest album in terms of sales but is still considered to be a success by reaching Gold status with almost no promotion or marketing support. This is also the first album Lil' Wayne stopped writing his lyrics on paper and actually freestyled his songs. The album was also released in a clean version, which removes most vulgar content like language and sex/drug related lyrics
